If you are a craft beer enthusiast, no visit to the Mendocino Coast in California is complete until you visit the world famous North Coast Brewing Company Campus (Brewery, Brewery Shop, and Brewery Taphouse) in downtown Fort Bragg, California.

My wife and I visited Fort Bragg from November 17-20, 2022 for our 15th wedding anniversary. We visited nearby beaches, our hotel room had the perfect ocean views, and the weather was calm with clear skies and mild temperatures. We couldn’t have asked for better conditions!

THE BREWERY

Although I didn’t get to take pictures inside the brewhouse, I wanted to get images of the outside. This brewhouse has been a landmark in downtown Fort Bragg for over 30 years.

THE BREWERY TAPROOM

This classic taphouse once housed the actual brewery back in 1988. The brewery has since moved across the street in their 90,000BBL capacity building. The Brewery Taphouse has been rated as one of the best places to eat and drink in Mendocino County, California numerous times. The taproom and adjacent dining room are reminiscent of an old English pub. The walls are adorned with numerous brewery signs and classic Belgian advertisements. The taproom offers all the North Coast beers on draught. Needless to say, both times my wife and I enjoyed a meal from their kitchen, the food was outrageously great! Click here to view the menu.

THE BREWERY SHOP

At the time of our trip, North Coast had just released their 2022 version of Bourbon Barrel Aged Old Rasputin Imperial Stout in 4 packs (and yes I bought a few cases of it). Their Brewery Shop is a beer enthusiast’s dream. You can find all of North Coast’s beers there, plus clothing, brewery paraphernalia, and much more. It is the sure fire place to find several vintages of barrel aged Old Rasputin and Old Stock Ale. This shop is a must visit- I did 2 times, and picked up a good deal of beers from them, plus glassware, and a few clothing items as well! Click here to view their online shop.

IMPERIAL STOUT – BOURBON BARREL AGED

The beers from North Coast Brewing Company are some of our favorites, and have been a staple in my household for many years. They have distribution in all lower 48 United States, so finding them is not hard at all. I highly recommend the beers from North Coast Brewing Company, and I will continue to do so.
