BUSINESS REVIEW ON BRIGOOHS! – REDDING, CALIFORNIA (FEATURING LINDEMANS FRAMBOISE LAMBIC)

Thanksgiving Day 2022 was the first time I tried the decadent, custom made Brigadeiros (the famous Brazilian treat) made by a local baker here in Redding, California. The first bite was absolute heaven!

Carine Cavalcanti is the creative baker who made these incredibly delicious treats for us to enjoy that day. The name of her company is BrigoOHs!

I was so impressed with the high quality of them, I wanted to learn more about BrigoOHs! and the person creating these delicious treats. I recently had the opportunity to interview Carine… read on.

Hi Carine! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with Beer Review Journal. Tell us about yourself. Where are you from?

I’m from Brazil- Foz do Iguassu, Paraná State, city of the Iguassu Falls, home of the biggest falls in the world. I came to America to visit and to follow a dream and ended up staying after I fell in love with Redding, California!

What motivated you to become a baker?

In my new life in America, I discovered that not many people knew about the famous Brazilian treat called Brigadeiros, and I thought I could introduce Americans to them and somehow sweeten their lives with it!

How long has BrigoOHs! been in business?

I launched BrigoOHs! in October 2022.

Tell us about your baking philosophy when making your Brigadeiros.

I like to call them “Gourmet Brigadeiros”, because they are indeed an upgraded version of the original simple recipes. I always look for and use the very best quality ingredients, especially incorporating Belgian chocolate. This way, I can bring a true and decadent flavor to every recipe. I’ve always loved cooking, and the funny fact is that when I was nine years old I made Brigadeiros was to sell at school. Later, my life took a different path and I turned into a digital marketer. However, my love of baking took me back after so many years. But more than anything, the BRIGoOHs! philosophy is all about bringing sweet joy to whoever tries them!

What do you like to do when not making your delicious BrigoOHs!?

I really love going outside and enjoying the beauty of creation, but even more enjoying the presence of our Creator and people.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I see myself growing, always. I see myself with my family and surrounded by people where I can instill everything I’ve been leaning. I want to be able to share my journey to inspire, to bring hope and love to everyone around me, regardless of what I’m going to be doing professionally.

16 years ago, my wife and I served Lindemans Framboise Lambic at our wedding reception instead of champagne. It has a special place in our hearts. It was the very first beer I thought of pairing with your delicious BrigoOHs! I introduced the Lindemans Framboise to you for the first time very recently. What did you like about it?

I love the fruity aroma and sweet taste! It is reminiscent of a sparkling fruit wine, bubbly and so pleasing to the palate- especially when combined with a wonderful dessert like BrigoOHs!
