BEER REVIEW: BROUWERIJ RODENBACH – RODENBACH CLASSIC – ROESELARE, BELGIUM

During these past 4 decades tasting the classic beer styles from Belgium, one of the styles I was intrigued with was the Red Ales from the Flanders region of Belgium. When I saw the pictures of the hundreds of oak foeders at Brouwerij Rodenbach in Michael Jackson’s The World Guide to Beer book in the 80’s, I knew I had to seek out their beers. Finding them in my area at the time was not easy. I have to say, the first time I tried any Rodenbach beer was in the early 90’s, only because that’s when it first became available in the San Francisco East Bay market.
