Many thanks to Merchant du Vin for sending us these samples from their product portfolio for us to publish beer reviews on. This will be our first time trying these beers.
The first beer from this group we will publish a beer review on will be from the Mount Saint Bernard Abbey, Tynt Meadow Trappist Ale. Released in 2018- it has gained wide praise; it’s about time we tried it! The Mount Saint Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire, England is the newest Trappist Abbey to start a brewery, and to earn the legal right to be called an AUTHENTIC TRAPPIST PRODUCT by the International Trappist Association.
Of course, the Westmalle Trappist Extra will have its beer review following immediately afterward. Released to the public in 2001, the Extra is considered what is known as a Table beer (Bière de table in French, Tafelbier in Dutch). It is the beer that the Westmalle monks enjoy with their meals. At only 4.8% ABV, it is a beer that is refreshing and light. We can’t wait to try it as well.
Stay tuned for these next two upcoming beer reviews to Beer Review Journal.
